Here's the story with this picture of the back of Chaser's ignition switch. The engine was cutting out when, by chance, I'd plow through a big wave :-). I figured it was an electrical problem and was setting up to troubleshoot at the dock with the engine idling. Getting ready to start wiggling the 4 miles or so of wiring in the engine compartment, I SMACKED my knee on the steering wheel. After the colors came back, I remembered that the engine had cutout. I banged on the dash with my fist and it cutout again. A picture or two later and I spied the loose spade connection on the back of the ignition switch! I would have spent hours wiggling wires in the wrong place. Karma is real, this boat owed me an easy one!

We had our almost annual summer block party this year. It was great to see new neighbors and catch up with old ones.

That's right, our neighbors The Lettrichs were there too.

Speaking of friends and neighbors. I was out on the water with a buddy of mine (Ted) when we saw some friends in trouble on South Dumpling Island. There's nothing on this little island but rocks, birds, and weeds. The spinnaker halyard jammed and dragged them into the rocks about 30 seconds later.

We plucked the crew of 10 from the leeward side and brought them in. These are people we race against during the summer, but the quarter flipped "heads", so we had to pick them up.

The boat, "Showdown", was a total loss. Bummer.
